The LG Optimus Net- Smart, Small, Superb

All smartphones today come at a price, but major manufacturers have become famous worldwide for their ability to bring budget smartphones to their customers such as the LG Optimus Net which packs the necessary looks and functionality of a smartphone but comes at a much affordable price.
In this review I'll be reviewing the LG Optimus Net on the grounds of design, build quality, functionality and pricing after which I will give a final verdict.

Design- The design of the Optimus Net is just passable with no out of the box features. It sports a 3.2 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with a 320x480 pixel resolution which is decent for low-end handsets. At the front is a single hard key which can either take you home or back depending on which side you press. There are also two capacitive keys namely Menu and Search. There is a dedicated power button on the top but we couldn't see any volume rocker whatsoever. At the back is a 3 megapixel camera which isn't accompanied by an LED flash.

Build Quality- Nothing much can be said about the build quality of the Optimus Net, considering its down to earth looks and well........unimpressive physical execution(no offence LG). It's all plastic, making it very light, but it also feels nice and compact to hold and can survive minor bumps and falls.

Functionality- Under the hood, the Net is powered by an 800 MHz Qualcomm processor and has an on board RAM of 512 Megabytes which makes the entire system fairly responsive to the touch. It runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread which today is the best suited OS for most low-end Android handsets. The virtual keyboard is well spaced and texting on the Net is a pleasure even in portrait mode, we can assure you that you will not end up landing your thumbs on inappropriate letters. The internet browser of the Optimus Net gets the job done. It supports pinch-to-zoom gestures and kinetic scrolling tends to lag a bit and it can't support Flash content, but hey! you can't expect to get the best from a low-end smartphone. The 3 megapixel camera isn't great, photos tend to be a bit lackluster. It can shoot video at a passable rate of 24fps.

Pricing- The LG Optimus Net is priced well at $180(USD). Considering its features and the fact that it is a budget device, we wouldn't wish to argue much about the device's price tag.

The Verdict- Overall, the LG Optimus Net is a good option for a smartphone only for those who want their first Android smartphone. Concerning design LG brings very little to the table, but leaving the shortcomings behind, you can get yourself an Android for only 150 bucks..........now who would deny that? You might just want to take a look at the Samsung Galaxy Y which packs a young, contemporary design and is priced a bit lower than the Net.

Hope this review was resourceful and helps you buy your LG Optimus Net.If you would like to purchase the LG Optimus Net right away, you can buy it through our 100% safe Amazon and Flipkart portals.
